Mobile App Early Access
The Receipt Wrangler mobile app is available today on Android and IOS in beta.
Currently, in the mobile app, users can:
- Connect to Receipt Wrangler server
- Log in/Sign Up
- View their groups
- View their group dashboards (only group summary widget supported right now)
- Quick Scan receipts from camera using a document scanner, and gallery
- View receipt list
- View a receipt and a receipt's images
To participate depends on your platform.
Android
- Join Receipt Wrangler google group https://groups.google.com/g/receipt-wrangler-testers (there is a Join Group button on the left hand side)
- On your Android device, open the link to the store page: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=io.receiptwrangler , or the web link (https://play.google.com/apps/testing/io.receiptwrangler)
- Install
IOS
- Navigate to https://testflight.apple.com/join/ccMLtcOB to join the testing group
- Install TestFlight on the iOS or iPadOS device that you’ll use for testing.
- Open your email invitation and tap "View in TestFlight" or tap the public link on your device.
- If you’re a new tester for the app, tap Accept.
- Tap Install to install the app on your device.
- If you’re a returning tester, tap Update or Open.

Google's new policies require new development accounts (such as mine) to run a closed testing period (which is ongoing now) with a minimum of 20 testers for 14 days. If you are at all interested in Receipt Wrangler, and have an Android device, I encourage you to join the beta so Receipt Wrangler can get production access as soon as possible.
Connecting to your server
To connect to your server, users will need to enter the URL to the server. Particularly to the API.
For example, if Receipt Wrangler is hosted at https://wrangler.example.com, the API URL would
be https://wrangler.example.com/api.
If the app is hosted locally, say http://192.168.0.1:8081, the API URL would be http://192.168.0.1:8081/api.
Notes
To use the beta mobile app, be sure to update your API to https://github.com/Receipt-Wrangler/receipt-wrangler-api/releases/tag/v4.2.0 for the best experience.
